Welcome Letter from the Secretary General
Most esteemed delegates, distinguished advisors, dear guests, honorable chairs,
It is my great honor and pleasure to welcome you all to the seventh—and newest edition of Oguzkaan Schools Junior Model United Nations Conference. As your Secretary General, I am truly delighted to see many young leaders gathered here for the shared purpose of tackling global crises that our society faces today.
Model United Nations is not just a simulation; it is a platform where you can find your voice, engage in debates, socialize and build friendships, and grow both academically and personally. You will be stepping up as diplomats, representing different nations around the globe, working together to seek shared solutions. As we open “A Door to the Future”, you will be challenged to confront a wide range of pressing issues whether it is about global security measures, ethical challenges from deepfakes, academic integrity among youth, data privacy and protection to potential benefits of artificial intelligence when managed responsibly.
This year, our conference centers around the growing influence of artificial intelligence and the responsibility that comes with it. As AI continues presenting opportunities, it also comes with complex challenges that require thoughtful and ethical solutions. I encourage each of you to participate actively, think critically and embrace diplomacy. It is important to remember that change begins with dialogue. As delegates, the ideas you share and the perspectives you bring will be valuable. Throughout this conference your voices will shape the debate, inspire solutions and contribute to a greater understanding of the challenges we face today.
I have no doubt that the discussions held, the resolutions written and the connections formed during this conference will leave a lasting impact. I wish you all a productive, inspiring and unforgettable experience.
Sincerely,
Secretary General,
Zeynep İpek Pak.
